IHTSDO trading as SNOMED International is now accepting applications for Management Board positions


Exciting times are upon SNOMED International.  The organization has recently moved to the United Kingdom, and with the change in location we have also embarked upon a Management Board renewal process.  The Management Board has legal and oversight responsibility for the management and direction of SNOMED International.


The current Management Board consists of 10 members, and the General Assembly has decided to adopt best practice with a move to a 7 person Management Board.


The General Assembly has therefore invited current Management Board members to stand down, in order to initiate a process in which all seven positions will be filled.  All current Management Board members may be eligible and indeed are encouraged to apply for the positions available. 


The terms of the appointments will be staggered with the longest term being three years and the shortest being one year.  SNOMED International is seeking individuals with varying skills/abilities and experience.  The Management Board’s skills matrix and the independence policy are attached for information.


Each year the Management Board meets face-to-face at least three times and holds at least three additional teleconferences. Face-to-face meeting locations are London (UK) and a variety of other locations around the world.


These are non-executive Director positions which carry legal responsibility for the governance of the organization. By law, the application criteria include that the applicant must declare that he or she is not disqualified or undischarged bankrupt, etc.
